Purpose The purpose of this job is to provide added value to the divisional team and local operations by deriving actionable insights, optimizing performance and driving strategic decision-making based on data. The role will foster a culture of data-driven narratives, ensuring stakeholders easily grasp our progress toward objectives and make informed business decisions. The incumbent will work and collaborate with Divisional and local counterparts in Canada, LATAM and Caribbean regions to set these initiatives in motion and drive their benefits. The incumbent will be under the guidance and supervision of the Director. Accountabilities Champions a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. Leads the "Insights and Analytics" area within the team by executing strategies that foster a new way of thinking around data-driven decisions ensuring it is driven by standardization to elevate divisional efficiencies and steer critical business strategies. Interprets data beyond surface analysis. Presents and uncovers valuable insights through thorough exploration, hypothesis testing, and a deep understanding of the information using existing environments, data, and metrics. Navigates data intricacies and consistently pushes boundaries to validate hypotheses. Team development. Leads and mentors a team of data analysts, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making and innovation. Cross-functional collaboration. Works closely with business leaders from different teams to understand their performance needs, enabling the team to build data visualizations and advanced dashboards to support internal decision-making. Process Enhancement. Identifies enhancements to data collection processes and works with internal team leads to ensure higher quality, reliability, and efficiency in data and reporting. Present insights. Produces visuals (charts, infographics) and presentations to communicate findings clearly and effectively to stakeholders and leadership to ensure the right investments to drive the objectives of the organization are being met. Maintains a close relationship with Divisional and local teams to identify emerging needs for analysis, metrics, or reports and aligns these needs with the Divisional Data and Reporting Strategy Framework. Establishes a forum with Divisional and local teams focused on identifying business problems/questions that can be solved with data. Prioritizes these under a Divisional lens. Monitors the pertinence of existing metrics and reports and makes recommendations on Divisional Data/Reporting changes. Creates and executes the divisional communication strategy for data insights in Collections including establishing an ongoing platform to communicate monthly/quarterly data-driven narratives to Collections Executives, divisional and operational teams. Leads data-insights projects. Creates and executes projects or initiatives that seek to address business questions via data. Leads Advanced Analytics (AA) / Machine Learning (ML) / Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiatives within the team. Proactively identifies divisional use cases where AA/ML/AI can be used that have added value and have a high return on investment for Collections. Together with the Director, champions and obtains Executive support for these use cases and prepares Divisional Business Cases and/or secures funding/participation from Customer Insights Data and Analytics as well as proper Project Management and other critical stakeholders. Acts as Collections SME, ensuring that Divisional AA/ML/AI projects are properly framed and executed from the technical perspective and add value to the organization, including the productionalization of AA/ML/AI models within Collections operations. Establishes a framework to monitor and calibrate AA/ML/AI models within Collections and ensures all required components are built within the different projects. Socializes benefits from all implemented AA/ML/AI initiatives to executive audiences within the organization in addition to critical stakeholders. Establishes and manages a Divisional Forum for AA/ML/AI initiatives where member countries can share/learn/replicate local initiatives. Co-leads Business as Usual activities related to insights and analytics as established within the Divisional Reporting Framework. Generates insights and cohesive narratives based on data for ongoing reports ensuring these are presented in well-designed formats and are distributed appropriately within the established timeframes. Partners with collections teams to dissect insights from monthly, weekly, quarterly reports to be used within any forum as required. Stays abreast of emerging technical trends and ensures activities are always delivered with a best practice and innovation approach, reflecting appropriate technological developments for competitive business position. Works in liaison with the Data and Reporting Leads within the team to develop and maintain programs and automation that support data architecture and enhance data quality. Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk. CAD$80B, Reportable Delinquency approx. CAD$5B, Cash Collected for International Banking CAD$4B/year. Education / Experience / Other Information Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Math, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field is preferred 15+ years in Collections, preferably managing data Spanish fluency required Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Advanced knowledge of statistical analysis Advanced knowledge in data mining, analytical and business intelligence principles and queries. Advanced knowledge with Power BI (Modeling, DAX, Time Intelligence, Live Connections) Advanced knowledge in SQL Advanced knowledge of information design Knowledge of Advanced Analytics, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence Models and Methodologies Strong analytical skills in system designs, process re-engineering and documenting user requirements. Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish. Ability to communicate and convey technical concepts to clients in "layman terms."
