IFC's Country Office in Colombia is responsible for leading the formulation of IFC's country strategy, monitoring and communicating IFC's project pipeline, portfolio performance, and strategy implementation in the country, monitoring political and economic developments, maintaining dialogue with government and partners, and coordinating Investment and Advisory programs. IFC is seeking an ET Consultant in Bogota, Colombia to fulfill this role. The candidate will work under the supervision of the Senior Country Officer. The candidate must be a self-starter, capable of taking initiative to cover a range of tasks, able to thrive in a small, entrepreneurial team, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Support the Senior Country Officer in developing a comprehensive IFC strategy for Colombia and to monitor and support the strategy's implementation. Collaborate with relevant IBRD departments to support the development of World Bank Group strategic products for Colombia. Together with the Senior Country Officer and in collaboration with the World Bank, develop and implement a strategy for IFC's Investment and Advisory activities in all streams with a focus on the key areas of the business plans per the country strategy, including updating pipeline reporting and business-plans regularly. Contribute to business development by representing IFC in meetings with potential clients. Monitor portfolio and pipeline of current and upcoming projects and provide advice and support to projects as needed; provide regular updates on pipeline and portfolio to management. Participate in IFC's investment and advisory project processing cycle (business development, project development, due diligence, etc.). Development documents reflecting IFC's activity in Colombia, including pipelines, management briefs, reports, presentations, and country economic updates. Develop a variety of communication and briefing materials for internal and external audiences. Support IFC corporate functions and initiatives as needed by the Senior Country Officer. Provide any other assistance needed by the Senior Country Officer for the day-to-day coordination of activities. Selection Criteria MBA or master's degree in business, Finance, Economics (or related field). At least 3 years of relevant experience in investment banking across various sectors, complemented by project/ program development, public policy, or consulting functions in emerging markets. Strong qualitative, quantitative, and analytical skills to gather and organize information and resources, compile data and prepare statistics, and synthesize knowledge from diverse sources of information. Strong financial and credit skills; demonstrated experience in a variety of financial instruments. Excellent understanding of Colombia's local and global economic and political context and private sector development issues. Distill and summarize large amounts of information from various sources to prepare business documents and presentations. Prior experience of working with multilateral organizations or development institutions and/or a strong understanding of IFC's financial products and services are important pluses. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues from various cultural backgrounds. Genuine commitment to sustainable development and the highest ethical standards. Strong client service orientation with an openness to feedback and new ideas. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish. Proven ability to work independently, deliver promptly and efficiently under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
