Job Description - Treaty Underwriter (23000082D20220617) Treaty Underwriter Bogota, Colombia Join a winning client underwriting team responsible for driving the Latin American treaty reinsurance business into the next dimension. Based in Bogota (underwriting offices in Bogota-Sao Paulo), you will strengthen our existing regional platform and coordinate closely with our local underwriting and actuarial teams, supported along the way by the claims/accounting/business services hubs located worldwide. The Treaty Underwriter is tasked to support the Senior team with the regional underwriting practices through both technical know-how and profitable business development, assisting to further diversifying a robust product portfolio across the P&C Reinsurance product suite. Essential Responsibilities An integral member of the LatAm regional team reporting to Senior Underwriters; responsible for pricing and technical underwriting analysis using AXA XL's reinsurance tools to determine expected profitability; responsible for individual assigned treaties/LoB's and territories within the LatAm region. Reviews and advises on technical proposals and coaches underwriter assistants in their approach to pricing, use and understanding of underwriting systems, tools, and reporting mechanisms. Recommends appropriate underwriting action, with proper supporting documentation and filing, to ensure compliance within the company's internal guidelines. Prepares underwriting committees on a regular basis. Executes the long-term profitable growth and diversification of assigned territories/clients. Qualifications Accountable and trustworthy team player with outstanding communication and negotiation skills. Ability to work well with both internal and external stakeholders. College degree with an emphasis in business, finance, actuarial, economics, statistics or related fields. Some to moderate relevant experience as a reinsurance underwriter/broker with at least 5 years of insurance/reinsurance technical analysis experience.
