The Impact of a Technical Writer at Coupa: As a member of our technical writing team, you will join an international group and engage with colleagues across Coupa, including Product Development, Legal, and Instructional Design. This is an exciting time to join us as we continue our growth. You will be instrumental in documenting and developing the best possible description of our products to present to customers and local regulators. What you will do: Work independently with developers, product managers, quality assurance staff, and others to learn about new and updated features to be documented for every release. This may include participating in meetings, examining design documents, attending demos, and interpreting epics, among other activities; Create, update, and improve online customer-facing product documentation using documentation tools and structured-authoring best practices; Review Jira tickets and decide what technical information to convert into release notes for customers; Collaborate with other technical writers on the Documentation team to prepare and deliver world-class documentation for feature releases; Establish and maintain good working relationships with cross-functional teams across international time zones; Use data-driven metrics and customer feedback to improve documentation; Support other parts of the organization as they develop and deliver content for customers, partners, and employees; Participate in workgroups and team projects to continually advance documentation quality and best practices. What you will bring to Coupa: A robust understanding of and experience with DITA, XML, and structured authoring; 3+ years of experience in technical writing for software development or web application development; A solid foundation in technical-writing principles, standards, and best practices; Superior written English skills, including extensive knowledge of the rules of composition and grammar as well as experience applying style rules to content; Experience with corporate regulatory compliance standards and practices is not required but is highly desirable. A familiarity with help-authoring tools, content management systems, and associated technologies and standards (such as Markdown, HTML/HTML5, CSS, etc.); Experience with agile software development methodology; A portfolio of writing samples demonstrating excellent written communication skills, the ability to adapt communications to varied audiences, and the ability to translate complex concepts into easy-to-understand, user-focused content; A demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple deliverables over tight timelines with minimal supervision, independently prioritize tasks, and reprioritize on short notice; Strongly held opinions about the Oxford comma. #J-18808-Ljbffr
