Your Day-to-Day We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team in supporting a Video on Demand (VoD) system. As an SME, you will be the primary point of contact for advanced troubleshooting, technical guidance, and system optimization, ensuring a seamless experience for our stakeholders and engineers. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues, provide training, and drive continuous improvements to the VoD platform. Must-have Skills To be successful in this role, you need: 5+ years of experience in supporting and maintaining Video on Demand systems or related streaming technologies. Proven experience as a Subject Matter Expert or in a similar role within a VoD or OTT (Over-The-Top) environment. Strong understanding of VoD workflows, including content ingestion, encoding/transcoding and CDN (Content Delivery Networks). Familiarity with streaming protocols (e.g., HLS, DASH), video codecs (e.g., H.264, HEVC), and media containers (e.g., MP4, MKV). Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Splunk, Grafana, Datadog) is a plus. Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) as well as Golang is a plus. Infrastructure experience supporting systems running on-prem and on AWS. Nice-to-have Skills Some nice-to-have qualities that will further help you are: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to troubleshooting.
