Job Title: Backend Tech Lead Location: Fully Remote About Us Bankuish is a FinTech startup helping millions of underbanked gig workers and freelancers in Latin America access affordable financial services, and is expanding into the US. Our app connects gig workers to pre-approved loans and offers from financial institutions. We also provide users tools to grow their financial literacy and credit score. Together, we're helping banks better serve this niche and helping entrepreneurial-minded people to reach the next tier of financial security. The Role As Backend Tech Lead you will be responsible for leading and developing a small team that manages the interchange of data between the Bankuish App, the Bankuish databases, and partner integrations. This includes but is not limited to the design of the overall architecture of the platform, ensuring maximum performance and stability. The right candidate will be passionate about using technology to solve real world problems. You are expected to understand Bankuish systems architecture, be a team player, lead technical decisions and have good communication. You will be responsible for designing the APIs. If necessary, you will work with new technologies to integrate with our partners through APIs, using asynchronous communication and events. You will be responsible for creating PoCs and providing guidance to the technical team. Required Skills: 3+ years of experience designing cloud-native solutions with AWS or GCP 2+ years experience managing teams and providing mentorship to junior developers/teammates Demonstrated ability to build architectures that support high-performance and scalable mobile applications Experience with continuous integration, continuous delivery principles (Gitlab or Jenkins) RESTful API design Automated Unit Testing End-to-End Test Automation Strong communication skills and fluent English language skills Desired Skills: Previous startup experience Kubernetes Experience Experience with Golang/NodeJS Optional certifications: GCP Professional Cloud Architect - GCP Cloud Developer Work experience with NoSQL and SQL databases Spanish and/or Portuguese fluency is not required but is preferred.
