The Role As a System Administrator specializing in backups, you will be responsible for the implementation, administration, and maintenance of backup and recovery systems.
Your primary focus will be on ensuring the protection and recovery of data in both physical and virtual environments.
You will work closely with various teams to manage backup servers, media servers, and tape libraries, both physical and virtual.
Additionally, you will participate in disaster recovery planning and execution, ensuring that data protection measures are robust and effective.
Key Responsibilities: Perform backup and recovery of customer data in distributed or cloud environments. Operate and maintain backup and recovery systems, including data protection servers. Implement, administer, and configure backup servers, media servers, and tape libraries. Participate in disaster recovery exercises, planning, and execution. Assess backup environments to identify pain points and translate them into opportunities for improvement. Lead teams to manage, protect, and recover customer data as business demands. Perform problem diagnosis and root cause analysis. Apply knowledge of automation and analytics tools to improve backup processes. Ensure compliance with data protection policies and procedures. Qualifications: 2 years of professional experience Proven experience in backup and recovery operations in distributed or cloud environments. Strong knowledge of backup technologies, including physical and virtual tape libraries, data protection APIs, and cloud containers. Experience with disaster recovery planning and execution. Ability to diagnose and resolve backup-related issues. Familiarity with automation and analytics tools for backup processes. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
