Seven Hills Veterinary Hospital is looking for a FULL TIME veterinary surgical assistant.
We are a 24-hour general and emergency practice that cares for companion animals.
Shift start and end times may vary slightly, but generally the shift is from 10am - 6:30pm Monday through Friday.
All team members must have compassion for pets and their owners and understand the stress that patients (pets) and clients may endure.
They understand and respect the human-animal bond.
Veterinary Surgical Assistants main responsibility is the organization of the surgery area.
Secondary functions are communicating with clients; confirming appointments; preoperative patient instructions and keeping the clients updated while their pets are in an anesthetic procedure.
We have monthly team meetings and monthly wellness activities.
Our team has created culture of camaraderie and mutual respect.

All candidates given a conditional job offer must pass a drug screen and background check Job Summary: Shall assist the doctors, other team members and clients with various procedures and services:
• Patient restraint
• Housekeeping- maintaining hospital cleanliness and organization
• Sterilizing instruments or supplies
• Stocking supplies
• Preparing medical supplies for use by the doctor or technician
• Caring for the patients in the hospital
• Navigating the practice management system - scheduling appointments, managing digital medical records
• Assisting clients when necessary; Answering the telephone
• Client check-out (invoicing, collecting payments)
Requirements
Education and Experience Required: CVA preferred (not required) High school diploma or equivalent Must be over 18 years old Prefer previous experience working with or handling animals Previous customer service experience helpful Physical Requirements:
• Capable of the following: standing, sitting, walking, stooping or kneeling, reaching with arms, talking and hearing
• Ability to lift or carry at least 40 pounds without assistance
• Vision close and normal, color vision and depth perception
Work Related Skills:
• Able to read and interpret documents such as medical records and procedure manuals
• Ability to understand and follow detailed instructions
• Able to write simple correspondence
• Ability to learn and navigate the computer system
• Work well in a team environment
• Respect for all animals and team members

$17.50/hour plus $1000.00 sign on/retention bonus
