As the Software Quality Director, you will play a critical role in ensuring the high quality and reliability of our software products.
You will lead a team of talented QA engineers and work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and customer operations, to drive quality initiatives and best practices across the organization. Your expertise in automated software testing tools and methodologies will be crucial in ensuring that our products exceed customer expectations.
You're the Quality Leader we're looking for if you:
- Lead and manage a team of QA engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure their professional growth and success.
- Research and select QA automation tooling infrastructure and processes all QA teams should follow, such as Cypress or Jest. Work with Infra/DevOps team to have a common setup all teams can use to automate tests right away.
- Define and implement the overall software quality strategy, processes, and best practices throughout the organization.
- Collaborate with product management, engineering, and customer success teams to understand product requirements and develop comprehensive test plans and strategies.
- Oversee the design, development, and execution of automated test suites using a wide range of testing tools, including Cypress, Selenium, Mocha, Jest, React Testing Framework, and Storybook.
- Continuously improve and optimize the testing infrastructure, frameworks, and tools to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the testing process.
- Monitor and analyze software defects, testing metrics, and quality indicators to identify areas for improvement and drive corrective actions.
- Work closely with engineering teams to ensure that testability and quality considerations are incorporated into the software development lifecycle.
- Stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and industry best practices in software quality assurance and testing, and proactively introduce relevant improvements to the organization.
- Collaborate with external partners and vendors, as necessary, to address specific testing requirements and ensure quality standards are met.
The bits and bytes that you'll bring to your new team:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in software quality assurance, with a focus on automated testing tools and methodologies.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with a wide range of automated testing tools,
including Cypress, Selenium, Mocha, Jest, React Testing Framework, and Storybook.
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing a team of global QA engineers, including performance management, mentorship, and career development.
- Solid understanding of software development methodologies, agile practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proven ability to define and implement software quality strategies, processes, and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think strategically and drive continuous improvement.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills,
with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a passion for delivering high-quality software products.
