Senior Underwriter Bogota, Colombia
Join a winning client underwriting team responsible for driving the Latin American treaty reinsurance business into the next dimension. Based in Bogota, you will strengthen our existing regional platform and coordinate closely with our local underwriting and actuarial teams, supported along the way by the claims/accounting/business services teams. The Senior Underwriter is tasked with helping to build the regional underwriting practice through both technical know-how and profitable business development, assisting to further diversifying a robust product portfolio across the P&C Reinsurance product suite.
DISCOVER your opportunity What will your essential responsibilities include?
Responsible for pricing and technical underwriting analysis using AXA XL's reinsurance tools to determine expected profitability. Responsible for individual assigned treaties/LoB's and territories within the LatAm region. Reviews and advises on technical proposals and coaches less experienced underwriters in their approach to pricing, use and understanding of underwriting systems, tools, and reporting mechanisms. Recommends appropriate underwriting action, with proper supporting documentation and filing, to ensure compliance within the company's internal guidelines. Prepares underwriting committees on a regular basis. Qualifies cedant and insured approach to risk management and assesses the underlying exposures and trends relating to ceded portfolios, making recommendations for actuarial review. Participates in the tracking of nat cat aggregates on a treaty, and regional portfolio and underwriting team level. Plans for the long-term profitable growth and diversification of assigned territories/clients. You will report to Head of Latin America Reinsurance.

Accountable and trustworthy team player with outstanding communication and negotiation skills. Ability to work well with both internal and external stakeholders. College degree with a emphasis in business, finance, actuarial, economics, statistics or related fields. Extensive reinsurance technical analysis experience. Prior experience in the reinsurance industry, with an understanding of products and underwriting complex tasks. Ability to make decisions autonomously and proactively and manage a seasonally high workload.
