Chemonics' Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) regional business unit is seeking an internal and external recruit for a Senior Specialist for Chemonics International Colombia S.A.S.
Chemonics International Colombia S.A.S.is a subsidiary of Chemonics International Inc. (Parent Company or Corporate Office) a global company headquartered in Washington DC, USA.
Chemonics International Colombia S.A.S is registered as a commercial company and incorporated under the laws of the Republic of Colombia for the purposes of establishing a Regional Office.
The purpose of the Colombia Regional Office is to provide specialized professional services to the Corporate Office as well as external clients.
The Senior Specialist, Operations is responsible for supporting the effective financial and administration management and implementation of the Colombia Regional Office (CRO) operations.
This role bridges the gap between the Accountant and the Sr. Operations Manager by managing essential financial and administrative tasks, ensuring alignment with company policies and local regulations.
We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.Responsibilities:Financial management Lead preparation of monthly financial reports and budget summariesMonitor operational expenses and suggest cost-effective solutionsSupport procurement processes, including reviewing vendor agreements and ensuring payment compliance Business Unit management and operations support Assist in managing the CRO's operations budget, financial processes, and administrative support systemsEnsure timely processing of financial reports, payroll, and tax complianceReview and verify general ledgers Compliance and audit preparation Lead in audit preparations, gathering required documentation and responding to audit inquiriesMaintains records related to contracts, tax filings, and operational compliance.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as requiredPerform other duties and responsibilities as required Requirements:Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or related field At least 5 years of relevant experience in operations, finance, and administrationExperience with preparing financial reporting with Colombia commercial entity requirements requiredKnowledge of financial reporting and accounting software (i.e.
SIIGO)Proficient with Colombian labor laws, tax rules, and procurement proceduresExperience in international organizations is a plusStrong organizational and multitasking skills requiredWillingness to travel to support operationDemonstrated leadership, versatility and integrityGood communication and teamwork skillsProfessional fluency in Spanish; intermediate proficiency in English Work Conditions Ability to telework and in office.
Occasional exposure to environmental conditions includes exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions caused by the weather.
Ability to travel within Colombia and overseas.
