This is a senior level position reporting to the Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting with primary responsibility of ensuring proper revenue recognition and associated costs related to our contracts. The Senior Revenue Accountant will play an integral role around revenue recognition and revenue reporting within our Finance department. Primary responsibilities will include: Ensuring accuracy and timeliness in accounting for revenue, deferred revenue, sales commissions, channel partner commissions, COGS, accounts receivable, bad debts, accrued expenses, and other accounting areas managed by the revenue accounting team. Helping to maintain processes and procedures for accurate and timely revenue recognition and associated expense accounting. Assisting in improving utilization of financial applications using Microsoft Dynamics 365 to satisfy ASC 606 and other GAAP reporting requirements including quarterly financial statement footnotes. Understanding and ensuring compliance with revenue recognition policies for all product offerings and ensuring these policies are reflected in product setup within the financial systems. Driving the monthly close process ensuring an accurate and timely close of revenue and expense ledgers. Preparing/reviewing revenue, expense, and balance sheet journal entries and account reconciliations in accordance with a rigorous close deadline. Assisting with the review of sales contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition and compliance. Helping to assist third party auditors to ensure timely year-end audit/review preparation. Working closely with members of other teams in finance and operations assisting with monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue forecasts and plans. Maintaining internal controls impacting all accounting areas managed by the revenue accounting team. Supporting revenue accounting team efforts with IT, operations, and other members in accounting to drive accounting system and reporting improvements. The Candidate: Required skills/qualifications: Strong work ethic, communication, and organizational skills. Self-motivated, can multi-task, and ability to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment. Comprehension of GAAP and other authoritative guidance. Detail oriented with excellent analytic and problem-solving skills. Ability to work with varying levels of employees. Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 2-5 years' work-related experience in a relevant position. Strong computer skills: Proficient Excel skills and other Microsoft Office products. Fluency in written and spoken English at CEF B2 level or above. Preferred skills/qualifications: Public accounting experience. Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365.
