Senior DevOps Analyst-Hybrid Environments IT Network, Infrastructure and Security Alliance Bioversity & CIATAbout the position The Networks, Infrastructure, and Security Unitis seeking a Senior DevOps Analyst.

This role is responsible fordesigning, deploying, and supporting scalable, secure cloud andhybrid solutions tailored to research projects.

The senior analystwill bridge the gap between development / research and operationsteams by enhancing automation, monitoring, and deployment processesfor both on-premises and cloud-based environments.

Responsibilities- Maintain a deep understanding of the Alliance's vision andstrategic plan to ensure that cloud and hybrid initiatives alignwith organizational goals.


- Provide guidance to systems analysts,IT engineers, and architects to facilitate effective architecturaldecisions. - Design, develop and implement integratedcloud / on-premises systems that meet operational, security andscalability requirements.
- Develop and maintain documentation ofthe organization's cloud architecture and infrastructure whileenforcing cloud technology standards for consistent, high-qualityimplementation.
- Develop and manage a comprehensive capacity planfor cloud infrastructure, ensuring optimal resource allocation anddocument investment plans identifying cost-reduction opportunities.
- Research emerging cloud technologies and recommend solutions thatenhance infrastructure flexibility and cost-effectiveness.
- Continuously monitor cloud performance, develop and execute testplans, and recommend improvements to ensure system reliability andefficiency.
- Work closely with developer teams to troubleshoot andresolve issues during deployment and ensure smooth integration, toautomate repetitive tasks, reduce manual interventions, and enhancesystem reliability.

- Provide technical support across cloudapplications and services, managing complex technical tasks andtroubleshooting. - Collaborate with research teams to ensure thelong-term cloud strategy remains aligned with platforms like AWS,Google Cloud, and Azure developments.
- Ensure that securitymeasures are implemented within cloud operations and collaboratewith security specialists as needed.
- Manage relationships withcloud service providers, ensuring their offerings meet operationalneeds, and guide cloud cost management to optimize resource usage.
- Ensure the Alliance applications are always in a deployable stateby designing and managing continuous integration and continuousdelivery / deployment (CI / CD) pipelines, using Jenkins, GitLab, orsimilar tools.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools(e.g., Terraform, Puppet, CloudFormation, etc.)
to automate theprovisioning of cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
- Implementand configure monitoring solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana,Nagios) to ensure high availability and performance of applicationsand services.
- Manage incident responses and root cause analysisfor infrastructure-related issues. - Support security bestpractices, including role-based access control (RBAC), encryption,and compliance policies.
- Provide training and support teammembers on new tools, processes, or architectural changes.Qualifications and requirements - Bachelor's degree in ComputerScience, Information Technology, Electronic engineering, or relatedfields.
- Specialization, training courses, or certifications inCloud Computing, Systems Architecture, AWS Solutions ArchitectAssociate or Professional.
- AWS Specialty certifications,
Azureand Google Cloud Platform certifications. - Minimum of 3 to 5 yearsexperience in an international organization, research, or academicenvironment in DevOps, system administration, or cloud operations.
- Advanced English level (oral and written). - Comprehensiveunderstanding of multi-tier architectures (web servers, caching,application servers, load balancers, storage solutions).
- Knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) andNoSQL databases. - Proficiency with message queuing systems andEnterprise Service Bus (ESB) technologies.
- Familiarity withContent Delivery Networks (CDN) for optimized content distribution.- Experience with LAN / WAN networking technologies (route tables,firewalls, NAT, HTTP, DNS, IP, OSI models).
- Strong understandingof RESTful web services and data formats (XML, JSON).
- Proficiencyin automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Experience withDocker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration. - Programming andscripting skills in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
- Familiarity withversion control systems (e.g., Git) and CI / CD platforms. -Experience managing server infrastructures with tools like VMwareor ProxMox.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle,from development to deployment. - Work experience in informationand application security (security mechanisms and tools).
- Expertise in system performance tuning and managing large-scaledistributed systems. - Deep knowledge of security concepts (publickey encryption, access credentials, certificate-basedauthentication).

Terms of employment This is a national recruitedposition placed at a BG0 7, on a scale of 14 levels, with level 14being the highest.


This is a Colombian national search and will bemanaged through a fixed-term contract of a one (1) year period,subject to a probation period according to the local legislationand is renewable depending on performance and availability ofresources.
