We collect industry metrics and provide valuable insights into market performance and traveler trends. Our products allow hotels to visualize where their occupancy stands in the market and how well they are pricing themselves against others. We also give other valuable insights into what drives traffic to their hotels. In today's information age, the ability for our customers to understand their performance can give them the edge they need over the competition. Summary of the role: This is a Big Data role. The right candidate for this role will have the opportunity to work with and move impressive amounts of data. The tasks involved are both challenging and fulfilling, with the outcomes and customer impact being readily observable. In this role you'll: Deliver data pipelines to provide data for applications and feeds. Support the pipelines and be the technical expert on the pipelines, documenting and training others on supporting the pipelines. Define delivery data pipelines and architecture. Support ETL processes in both cloud and on-premise environments. Work autonomously and without guidance when leadership is unavailable. Support and develop Airflow DAGs for processing, moving, and exporting large amounts of data. Perform Python development. Maintain a consistent pattern of coding style and documentation. Track data for KPIs to measure team effort and contribute to resource capacity planning. Experience developing data pipelines in Spark or Databricks. Keep in sync with team members in other countries and time zones. Participate in on-call rotation. About the ideal candidate: We are looking for someone with a minimum of 5 years' data engineering experience. The ideal candidate will have experience with multiple forms of data and will have worked with multiple databases. The ability to mentor and lead others on the team is needed. A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is required. This role will require good Python skills and knowledge of Airflow and Git. This role will also require the ability to work in both a cloud environment and an on-premise environment. Understanding of Azure cloud architecture in terms of data engineering is critical.
