Currently, we are seeking a Senior Applications Support Engineer to join our team. Here are the challenges that our next warrior will face and the requirements we look for: Position Title: Senior Applications Support Engineer Location: Remote - LATAM What you will be doing: The Senior Applications Support Engineer serves a pivotal role within our Technology team, working closely under the guidance of the VP of Applications. This position primarily focuses on delivering level 2 and 3 support for our proprietary web application, ensuring high performance and operational continuity. The role involves expert application configuration through SQL scripting and collaboration with the Java-based product development team to resolve issues and enhance functionalities. The successful candidate will ensure robust security configurations while supporting exploratory and integration testing for selected software releases. This role is integral to bridging technical expertise with customer-centric solutions, contributing significantly to the small team atmosphere that characterizes a dynamic environment. Provide level 2 and 3 support to resolve end-user issues for our proprietary web application, demonstrating expert feature, configuration, and system knowledge. Utilize advanced SQL scripting for application configuration and troubleshooting, leveraging Oracle SQL Developer. Collaborate with the Java-based product development team to address issues or implement software changes, maintaining familiarity with core Java. Assist in quality assurance testing for software releases, focusing on exploratory and integration testing. Manage application security configurations, including maintaining RSA keys, trust stores, and SSO configurations as part of Linux system administration tasks (AWS Linux). Execute Perl, PL/SQL, and Linux shell scripting for robust application support and problem-solving. Engage in project management and collaboration using tools like JIRA and Confluence. Required Skills & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. 7+ years of experience in administering data-driven web applications. Expertise in SQL scripting for application configuration and support. Proficiency in PL/SQL, Perl, Regular Expression, and Linux Shell scripting. Experience in Linux system administration including security configurations, RSA keys, trust store, certificate maintenance, and SSO configurations. Basic understanding of object-oriented programming. Familiarity with Oracle SQL Developer and Java IDEs. Core Java skills to collaborate effectively with the development team. Soft Skills: Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for successful interactions with clients and team members, ensuring clear and precise exchanges of information. Strong organizational and prioritization skills are vital to manage multiple tasks efficiently, ensuring deadlines are met and projects are delivered on time. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a small team setting is crucial, promoting a cohesive and productive team environment. Problem-solving aptitude is necessary for diving deep into application workings to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues effectively.
