Purpose Support GBM Internal Control - PTMM pre trade mid mark Monitoring globally ensuring execution and delivery in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. Accountabilities Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. Implement procedures, processes, training for first line monitoring and testing controls related to the provision of pre-trade mid-market prices/marks ("PTMM") provided to in-scope US Persons under CFTC External Business Conduct requirements for OTC derivative products; Support CFTC OTC Derivatives trade reconstruction testing the Bank's ability for recordkeeping and retention of pre trade execution records and ability to provide information to CFTC within 72 hours, when requested. Prepare for regulatory reviews and requests. This will include working with Trading Management, Compliance, Legal, Finance, Technology and GRM in determining the adequacy of information to be provided. Review materials to ensure accuracy, integrity, and completeness; Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. Dimensions Global Banking and Markets contributes ~30% to Scotiabank net income; The incumbent is expected to maintain an in-depth knowledge of operational conditions throughout the applicable Business Lines and the state of regulatory matters, be able to resolve issues of non-compliance and to escalate issues promptly that are deemed to be serious, or have broad impact; The incumbent should be able, on his/her own initiative, to resolve issues, and also recognize the need to involve his/her supervisor/s and/or Subject Matter Experts when required. This role requires successful completion of the National Futures Association Swaps Proficiency Requirement (SPR) within 90 days of assuming the role. Education / Experience At least two years' experience in a Capital Markets Compliance, Operations, Trading or Operational Risk role. Good understanding of capital markets OTC derivatives. Strong written and verbal communications and inter-personal skills. Excellent command of English (reading, writing, and speaking skills).
