Job Summary: The Security Camera Monitor will be responsible for overseeing surveillance systems to protect our stores, facilities, and cannabis inventory.
The role includes monitoring store operations, ensuring compliance with security procedures, reviewing POS system activity for unauthorized transactions, and addressing suspicious behavior.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail, prior experience in security monitoring, and an understanding of security protocols in the cannabis industry.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Sacramento, CA Time, with a 1-hour unpaid break (8 paid hours per day).
Responsibilities: Surveillance Monitoring: Continuously monitor surveillance cameras across multiple locations to detect and prevent theft, vandalism, and other suspicious activities.
Maintain situational awareness of activities in monitored areas and respond swiftly to security breaches or incidents.
Store Opening and Closing: Supervise the opening and closing procedures for stores, ensuring strict adherence to security protocols.
Confirm that all entry and exit points are secure, with no unauthorized access.
Incident Response: Respond promptly to alarms and security incidents, coordinating with on-site security and law enforcement when needed.
Accurately document all incidents and suspicious activities for record-keeping and follow-up.
Procedural Compliance: Follow established security protocols to maintain the safety and integrity of all facilities.
Perform routine audits of camera footage to ensure compliance with internal security policies.
POS System Review: Regularly monitor the POS system to detect unauthorized discounts or transactions.
Report any discrepancies or suspicious activities to the relevant department for further investigation.
Reporting and Documentation: Maintain detailed logs of monitored activities, incidents, and actions taken.
Prepare and submit comprehensive incident reports to the security manager and other relevant personnel.
Communication and Coordination: Collaborate effectively with on-site security personnel, store managers, and other key stakeholders.
Provide real-time updates to the security team and management as needed.
Inventory Controls: Stay informed on all company-related SOPs for inventory management.
Ensure employees follow inventory control procedures to maintain security and accuracy.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in security or surveillance are a plus.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in security monitoring, surveillance, or a related field.
Experience with security systems in the cannabis industry and overseeing cannabis inventory is preferred.
Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to remain focused and alert during extended shifts.
Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
Proficiency in operating surveillance camera systems and security software.
Familiarity with POS systems and the ability to identify unauthorized transactions.
Capability to work independently and handle high-pressure situations effectively.
Knowledge of security protocols in the cannabis industry is highly desirable.
