Eligible applicants are new grads with no previous respiratory therapy experienceLocation: UCHealth Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion, US:CO:AuroraDepartment: Respiratory Care MainFTE: Full Time, 0.9, 72.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)Shift: Nights Pay: $29.54 - $44.31 / hour.

Details regarding the new grad RT program:Eligible participants will go through a comprehensive interview and screening process.New Hires must receive their RRT certification and BLS and ACLS certifications prior to the start date.. Each program participant will be required to actively participate in a hospital or department committee.Preceptors, mentors and STAR council members will assist in the development of a STAR portfolio for Level II status.At the completion of the program, residents will present an evidence-based presentation to the program Advisory Board Committee and Respiratory Care Leadership Team The first 12 months will include a consistent and content rich series of lectures and workshops.
Responsibilities of Respiratory Therapist position:Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care.
Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices.
Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance.
Assesses patient condition and delivers appropriate treatment utilizing appropriate protocols.
Educates the patient and family about the patient's illness and provides information about community resources.Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.Requirements:Minimum Required Education: Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
Required Licensure/Certification: Registered as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
State licensure if required by law.
No previous RT work experience.BLS and ACLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date.
BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
