Purpose The Quality Assurance Functional Associate is responsible for coordinating and executing the testing for multiple projects or releases while being deployed on Agile or Waterfall software development teams. An active collaborator on the project team, the incumbent is responsible for following quality assurance and testing practices and is expected to provide test designing, test execution, defect tracking, and QA progress monitoring services. The role breakdown will be: 20% Analysis and Design of Test Strategy, 40% Test Execution and coordination (Automated and Manual), 20% create business requirements with final users, 20% Ability to handle and solve reported issues for other team members. Accountabilities Supervise and co-ordinate testing for projects/releases: Assess UAT projects to determine the risk of releasing the code into the current test environment, specifically the possible impact to multiple projects, the degree of overlap in the applications and the code itself, within extremely tight timeframes. Design UAT test plans; assign and review test documentation (functions, test cases, scripts); balance the need to mitigate risk with the optimal use of testing resources while adhering to UAT policies, standards, and procedures. Support with hands-on creation of test data, execution of test cases as needed, document test results, and conduct defect triage meetings with multiple stakeholders. Execute Test Automation Scripts, analyze the test logs, and validate the test results. Should be able to make simple changes to the automated test cases. Continually evaluate priorities for various projects in response to frequent directional changes and take decisive action as required. Assess the results of UAT tests and take appropriate action; work closely with the development group to resolve defects; escalate issues to management when necessary; make recommendations to release the code to Production. Create business cases and requirements with final users; provide support to final users answering questions regarding iSApp process and procedures. Provide hands-on training on systems, hardware, environment, product, standards, and methodology to final users; provide feedback on department and project objectives, conflict resolution, and team building to assigned staff. Work with individual project teams during the software development life cycle to ensure business and technical requirements have been fulfilled; contribute recommendations and assessments to ongoing project reviews. If deployed on agile teams, work as a cross-functional QA team member working within sprints. Work with other scrum team members to come up with validation scenarios, create test cases, execute test cases, resolve bugs, assist test automation engineer with test design, execute automated test cases, and analyze test results. Maintain a thorough and current understanding of assigned banking applications, UAT code configuration, system integration, environment resources, and code delivery process; provide technical advice to development teams. Forecast workday estimates based upon project documentation; monitor resource demands and escalate resource shortfalls or conflicts as required. Identify and pursue opportunities to enhance personal breadth and depth of expertise and proactively apply knowledge on the job; identify and recommend enhancements or modifications to UAT processes in an effort to continually improve overall department efficiency and effectiveness. Education and Experience 2+ years of software testing experience, preferably on banking/financial applications. Ability to supervise business applications testing with iOS UI testing, Web interfaces. Automation experience in SELENIUM, Cucumber, and GHERKIN (2 of them). Nice to have Cypress. Strong knowledge in Jira and Confluence to register the work in progress. Strong knowledge of Waterfall and Agile; experience working in waterfall and agile teams in a QA function. Extensive understanding of code management, server and applications layering, environment configuration, and databases. Basic coding experience in at least one scripting/programming language; clear coding basics and ability to work with databases. Knowledge of SQL and ability to write simple to medium complexity queries. Initiate and perform software fault source diagnosis. Strong working knowledge of PCs and department-related software. Ability to use automated drivers for project testing; able to appropriately assess their value to a particular release and employ them accordingly. Strong interpersonal skills.
