Since our founding in 1895 in Marin County as an orphanage - and through subsequent years as Sunny Hills Services - Side by Side has been at the forefront of best practices in child welfare, working with the most vulnerable youth in our community. Today, Side by Side operates in four counties - Marin, Alameda, Sonoma, and Napa - across the Bay Area, reaching nearly 2,000 children, young adults, and family members per year with much-needed services related to behavioral and mental health, early intervention in schools, LGBTQIA+ support, transitional housing for foster youth, and special education.

COMPENSATION
This non-benefited position is part-time at 8 to 10 hours/week with a pay range of $310 to $325 per hour. This role is a hybrid role.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Psychiatrist is responsible for service integration and quality of psychiatric services delivered to clients of Side by Side. Psychiatrist serves as the agency's Infection Control Officer and a member of the Health & Safety Committee. Psychiatrist oversees agency-wide medication management. Psychiatrist provides clinical supervision to NP/PA, helps support with chart audit compliance and TJC compliance with regards to medication management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Implementation of quality, comprehensive, individualized, strengths-based, and culturally competent psychiatric treatment and medication management in the community.Monitor and evaluate medication services across the agency.Maintain systems that ensure accountability in all areas regarding service quality.Responsible for the implementation of policies and procedures which track relevant documentation, adherence to regulatory and contractual requirements, and billing productivity.Participate in intake and discharge process.Responsible for assuring timely submission of Medi-Cal progress notes and Assessments.Obtain and complete necessary clinical records/documents within assigned time frames.Ensure culturally sensitive and relevant treatment.Collaborate weekly with Director of Mental Health Services.Consult with a licensed physician as needed for patient careParticipate in program outreach.Participate in program development.Participate in Clinical Treatment Team meetings weeklyParticipate on the Health and Safety Committee and attend bi-monthly meetings.Serve as the agency's Infection Control Officer, which includes overseeing the Plan.

POSITION-SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES Job Knowledge Ability to conduct psychiatric assessments and make diagnoses;Ability to prescribe psychotropic medications as needed, monitor efficacy, monitor medication side effects, and document progress.Ability to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to perform clinical assessments and develop treatment plan;Knowledge of the mental health system for Transition Age Youth (TAY), as well as ages 5-26.
