We are looking for a Property Claims Manager for our Regional Claims Center LA (RCCLA) located in Bogotá who is eager to learn and share his/her knowledge. The RCCLA is responsible for claims derived from Facultative and Treaty businesses for important and growing markets in Latin America such as Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Peru, and Colombia. Claims management of large losses, develop recommendations for improving underwriting quality based on lessons learnt from claims and claims trends analyses, assist in drafting wordings/clauses and assess the quality of the Client's claims management. Determine insurance and reinsurance coverage and quantitative matters in preparation for decision on indemnity in principle and amount of indemnity and in preparation for settlement within granted authorities. Clarify with clients about individual and accumulation losses (e.g. loss mitigation, coverage under the original policy and the reinsurance contract, amount of indemnification, subrogation). Support claims management activities of clients and Munich Re on site after large loss events upon request. Estimation of ultimate loss. Conducting quarterly reviews of ultimate (case and accumulation loss) reserves, especially as Manager of outlier losses. Perform claims reviews (internally and externally). Give presentations as a speaker and expert in internal and external workshops and events, contributing to specialised publications. Monitor and report about new local laws and regulations, case law trends and their impact on claims management of Munich Re. Contribute to enable business. Support Claims1.5 in development and distribution of Claims Digital Services. Your profile: Engineering or Law degree and academic training on Insurance Law. Experience in property claims management or as a property underwriter with an interest in claims management. Good analytical skills, ability to work diligently and independently. Confident and self-assured, excellent communication skills and a structured working style. Ability to work effectively and collaborate within a team. Fluent written and spoken Business English and Spanish. Highly motivated and well-developed intercultural skills. Willingness to travel, including extended business trips. Good negotiation and conflict-solving skills, perseverance, ability to take decisions.
