We are now looking for a Principal Engineer who will play a pivotal role in shaping the product and technology for years to come.
Responsibilities:System Architecture & DesignDistributed Systems: Design and build scalable, modern distributed systems (e.g., microservices, serverless architecture).
Monolith to Microservices: Lead the process of breaking down monolithic systems into modular components.
Data Storage: Design and manage high-read/write databases using relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB) databases, along with caching solutions (e.g., Redis).
API & System IntegrationAPI Development: Develop efficient, scalable APIs (RESTful or GraphQL) for serving recommendations and search results.
Event-Driven Systems: Build message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka) for service decoupling and design systems for asynchronous tasks.
Search & Recommendation EnginesSearch Systems: Implement and optimize search systems using tools like Elasticsearch, creating indexes for quick lookups.
Recommendation Engine: Build and optimize large-scale e-commerce recommendation algorithms, including product recommendations, user feed recommendations, and video/story recommendations.
Machine Learning Integration: Design pipelines to integrate ML models, including inference, serving recommendations, and automating AI/ML workflows from development to production.
Performance & ScalabilityScalability: Ensure high availability and performance of the platform to support millions of users and personalized recommendations.
Monitoring: Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting systems (e.g., Prometheus, Datadog) for observability.
Product & CollaborationCross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, design, and marketing teams to ensure engineering efforts align with the company's vision.
Decision Making: Make informed decisions, balancing trade-offs between consistency and availability in distributed systems.
Security & Compliance: Ensure data privacy, security protocols, and regulatory compliance are integrated into the engineering workflows.
Innovation & OptimizationContinuous Improvement: Stay up to date with the latest trends in AI, machine learning, and mobile app development to keep the platform cutting-edge.
A/B Testing & Iteration: Conduct A/B tests and experiments to iterate on algorithms, optimize models, and refine user personalization.
Minimum Qualifications:Tech Stack Expertise:
ML Stack: Proficient in Python for machine learning applications.
Database: Experience with MongoDB (Atlas), PostgreSQL, and cloud-based solutions (Microsoft Azure).
Frontend: Experience with React Native and ReactJS for app development.
Proven Track Record: Experience in building 0-1 products, ideally in e-commerce or AI-driven platforms.
Previous experience as a founder is highly preferred.
Technical Mastery: Strong expertise in backend infrastructure, AI, machine learning, and recommender systems.
Agility: Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment, with a focus on agile development.
Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Education: Advanced degree in Computer Science (or related field) from a reputable institution.
