Perl Developer

Perl Developer Department: Operations Employment Type: Full Time Location: Colombia Description As a Perl/Web Developer, you will be joining the IB Insurance development team which maintains the Insurance Platform application for several countries. You'll be responsible for developing the front end of the application in HTML and JavaScript, and the back-end transactional app in Perl with connectivity to PostgreSQL database, and integration with web services from external providers. You will be part of the team responsible for development and writing code mainly using Perl, HTML, JavaScript, collecting and processing data, and converting databases to PostgreSQL. You will participate in design sessions to understand business requirements and possible solutions to be delivered. You will team up with Product Managers to create project plans and estimate task durations. Key Responsibilities Analyze and understand existing code from an existing application being maintained and enhanced. Collaborate with a diverse team located in different regions. Write well-designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices. Create and maintain software documentation. Coordinate with the Project Manager to clearly understand business requirements and expectations. Conduct training and provide guidance to Junior Developers when required. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Deep knowledge of Perl, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS. Proven experience with the languages mentioned. Experience or familiarity with PostgreSQL. Familiarity with Docker. Experience working with authenticated, customer-focused applications. Experience in building accessible and internationalized web applications. Fluency in the English language.
