Position: We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee and manage our payroll functions for a manufacturing company with over 1,400 employees located in the La Vega Free Zone in the Dominican Republic. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for our employees, compliance with local labor laws and regulations, and maintaining payroll records. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, fluency in Spanish and English, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities: Supervise a team of 4 payroll processors who are responsible for end-to-end payroll processing for employees across multiple departments. Ensure accurate calculation of wages, deductions, taxes, and other withholdings. Verify and reconcile payroll data to ensure compliance with local regulations and internal policies. Oversee electronic transfers or the distribution of paychecks to employees. Manage payroll related filings with the governmental entities. Address payroll-related inquiries or issues from employees in a timely manner. Collaborate with the Human Resource and Finance departments to ensure seamless payroll operations. Stay updated on changes in labor legislation and ensure compliance. Generate payroll reports for management review and analysis. Maintain confidentiality of payroll information and sensitive employee data. Assist with year-end payroll closing and reporting. Requirements : Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. Proven work experience as a Payroll Manager or similar role, preferably in the Dominican Republic. In-depth knowledge of local payroll regulations, tax laws, and labor codes. Strong technology skills. Experience with payroll software and systems; Currently processing payroll in Newsoft but anticipate a potential software conversion Strong analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex payroll issues. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. High level of integrity and confidentiality. Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Fluency in both English and Spanish is mandatory .
