We are seeking a Microbiology Manager to join our client's team in Aurora, CO.
In this regional role, you will oversee microbiological programs at four locations across the U.S. and Canada.
You will play a critical role in managing and analyzing microbiological data, supporting sanitation and quality assurance teams, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
Details: Pay Range: $90,000 - $100,000 annually DOEShift: Mon - Fri 8am - 5pmDuration: Direct-hire (permanent position)On-site in Aurora, CO with some travel Responsibilities: Oversee the EMP, including ATP, air sampling, water testing, and swabbing programs.Establish monitoring sites, identify harborage locations, and conduct root-cause investigations.Track and trend EMP data, reporting all non-conformance results promptly to leadership.Manage the food safety plan in accordance with regulatory, customer, and other guidelines.Conduct internal audits on sanitation policies and procedures.Collaborate with sanitation chemical suppliers to improve cleaning practices and train employees.Provide technical support to sanitation, QA analytical lab, maintenance, and engineering departments.Train and monitor employees on GMPs, aseptic sampling, testing methodologies, and equipment calibration.Assist sister facilities in establishing and maintaining EMP programs.Write and revise SOPs, policies, and procedures related to microbiological programs.Maintain lab files, log spreadsheets, Certificates of Analysis, and Certificate of Quality Letters.Oversee third-party lab testing for validation and shelf-life studies.Work with various teams on Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) related to EMP.Support continuous improvement projects associated with QA departmental goals.Maintain a Microbiological Testing Registry for finished products at Tower and Pembroke locations. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related discipline.Minimum of 3 years of experience in food safety, laboratory, or manufacturing environment, with a focus on microbiological testing and analysis.Proficiency in EMP programs, microbiology, sanitation practices, and production processes.Strong understanding of USDA and FDA regulations, GMPs, GFSI Audits, SSOPs, and SOPs.PCQI Certification (or must be obtained within 4 months of hire).Experience supervising and training employees in various roles.Ability and willingness to travel 25% - 50% of the time within the U.S. and Canada.Proficient in English and Spanish, with strong written and verbal communication skills.Experience in food manufacturing facilities and hygiene design is highly desirable.
