Billing Specialist Location: On-Site Medellín, Antioquia Job Type: Full-time 40 hours weekly PST Schedule Job Summary: We seek a detail-oriented and organized Insurance Billing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will manage the billing process for insurance claims, ensure timely and accurate submissions, and resolve discrepancies with payers. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and submit insurance claims to various payers, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies. Review and verify patient insurance information, ensuring accuracy before billing. Follow up on outstanding claims and denials, conducting thorough research to resolve issues. Maintain accurate records of claims submissions, payments, and outstanding balances. Communicate with insurance companies and patients to address billing inquiries and discrepancies. Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure all services are documented and billed appropriately. Stay updated on industry changes, payer policies, and billing regulations. Generate and analyze billing reports to identify trends and areas for improvement. Assist in training and mentoring new team members as needed. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of 1 year of experience in insurance billing or medical coding. Strong knowledge of insurance terminology, billing procedures, and healthcare regulations. Proficient in billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
