Responsibilities Serve as the virtual face of the practice, warmly greeting and checking in patients for their remote psychiatric appointmentsSkillfully prepare patients for their telepsychiatry consultations, ensuring they're comfortable with the technology and processEfficiently manage and update patient information in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, maintaining accuracy and confidentialityCoordinate seamless appointment scheduling, optimizing the psychiatrist's time and enhancing patient access to careProcess electronic payments and co-pays, providing clear explanations of billing procedures to patientsAct as a liaison between patients and the psychiatrist, relaying important information and addressing basic inquiriesUphold the highest standards of patient privacy and HIPAA compliance in all interactions and data handlingAssist in streamlining administrative processes to enhance overall practice efficiencyCollaborate with the psychiatrist to ensure smooth patient flow and exceptional care deliveryEngage in continuous learning about psychiatric care support, staying updated on best practices in telemedicineRequirements Proven experience as a medical assistant, preferably in a mental health or telemedicine settingProficiency in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and comfort with various telehealth technologiesExceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey empathy and professionalism in virtual interactionsStrong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, remote environmentIn-depth understanding of HIPAA regulations and unwavering commitment to patient confidentialityDemonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining strong team collaboration skillsFlexibility to work evening hours as needed to support patient scheduling preferencesBasic understanding of medical billing processes and excellent attention to detailComfort with on-camera interactions and the ability to troubleshoot basic technical issuesPassion for mental health care and a dedication to patient-centered serviceAbility to adapt quickly to new technologies and evolving telemedicine practicesStrong problem-solving skills and the initiative to proactively address challenges in a remote work setting
