Summary: * The Managing Director, LA North will have responsibility across multiple countries including Colombia, Peru, and Ecuador with a total revenue of approximately $350MM.
* The individual must have strong execution skills and strong focus on the external market to benchmark against competitors and win in the marketplace.
* The LAN organization consists of ~280 employees, and the leader will have director of Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial Excellence, and Market Access reporting into them.
The leader will also have dotted line responsibility for other functional areas, such as Finance, IT, and HR.
* The Pharmaceutical organization in LAN has grown double digits for several years and has the highest engagement scores in the region (over 95%).
The leader must use this as a level to sustain engagement.
* The position reports directly into the International Vice President, LATAM, and will be on the LATAM leadership team.
This is a high performing team, and the Managing Director will be a key contributor to the region's agenda and strategy.
Key Responsibilities Include: * Plans, develops, and directs all aspects of the country based on sales/profitability and other goals and objectives established in conjunction with the next highest level of management.
* Formulates and communicates overall business objectives, policies, and strategic plans for LAN.
* Ensures effective implementation and execution of policies and plans to direct the growth of LAN to achieve both long - term and short - range objectives.
* Directs the development and preparation of short-term and long-range sales/profitability and other goals, plans, and budgets that are aligned with the country's goals and growth objectives.
* Makes timely decisions and balances short - term needs with longer term strategic impact.
* Develops and establishes country operating and commercial policies consistent with the policies and objectives as set by the top leadership in the region and ensures their execution.
* Appraises and evaluates the results of overall operations regularly, systematically and reports these results.
* Maximized performance of the country and productivity from insight generation to strategy development.
* Identifies, directs, and participates in acquisition and future growth activities, including investigations, evaluations, and negotiations in accordance with country and regional objectives.
* Builds organizational capability and allocates appropriate resources to achieve growth goals.
* Creates the structure and processes necessary to manage the organization's current activities and its projected growth.
* Establishes policies to ensure adequate management development and to provide for capable management succession.
* Ensures sound services and working relationships with key staff of important customers and vendors, with outside services such as consultants, legal counsel, advertising agencies, regulatory agencies, and outside public and governmental bodies.
* Plays a key role in shaping the external environment.
* Builds an engaged workforce and establishes a plan for continuous team development.
Leads and continuously coaches the LAN leadership team.
* Conducts business activities in compliance with ethics and legal requirements.
* Actively participates on the LAN Presidents' Council along with JNJ Med Dev and JNJ Consumer sectors to address specific enterprise needs at the local level.
Required Skills: * Broad knowledge of the healthcare industry and in high specialty products * Experience and proven track record in Sales, Marketing, Access/Health Economics, and Talent Management.
* Proven success in delivering business results working in a highly matrixed structure.
* Ability to promote an organizational culture that challenges the status quo, leads and adapts to change, while guiding the organization through the change.
* Critical enterprise leadership skills with the ability to successfully work across functions and cultural boundaries.
* Proven ability to inspire and mobilize an organization through periods of change, adversity, and ambiguity.
* Documented track record of successful talent development outcomes.
Proven ability to align and engage an organization around a compelling vision and to recruit, develop, and retain top talent.
* Able to successfully advocate for and represent Johnson & Johnson in the external market.
* Fluent in English and Spanish.

This position is based in Bogotá , Colombia and requires up to 35% travel.
