To legally advise the development of the business in the countries.
To implement proper legal documents.
To identify legal risks, litigations, and legal contingencies in the countries.
To implement monitoring and reporting mechanisms.
Responsibilities and PrioritiesEnsure legal compliance with relevant laws and legislation, in line with priorities agreed with Management Team and Yara Legal Latam.Provide proactive, fast, effective, high quality and business-oriented legal support and advice in key projects, litigation matters, disputes and arbitrations.Proactively identify legal problems, solutions, and potential support needed to provide more strategic support to local teams.Ensure effective contract management, drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, as needed, from legal & compliance perspectives. Provide and implement best practices, as well as contribute to the improvement of the process.Manage and support corporate governance of the local entity.Act as Secretary General – attend and coordinate preparation of Board of Directors and General Assembly meetings.Advise legally other areas regarding different branches of law, especially commercial law, antitrust, data privacy, and taxes.Handle litigations and/or manage and centralize with the external counsels.Select, assess and follow up on external attorneys.Provide advice in labor issues.Support the obtaining of licenses and permits, and follow up on them.Participate as a member of the management team.Management DutiesLeadership: create alignment across Legal and its interfaces with other areas in the countries.Communication: collaboration and coordination with legal peers.HESQKnow and comply with the Policy, Safety Principles, guidelines and HESQ standards established by the company, based on the Safe by Choice philosophy, as well as the applicable legal requirements. Know and comply with the other requirements defined in the Matrix of HESQ Responsibilities, associated with their position/role.
