Job Purpose
The Lab Assistant will be motivated, curious, and diligent, with a keen interest in studying the effect of fragrances on human emotions. Working closely with our New Technology Development Manager, the lab assistant will process samples, prepare for panels/conduct tests, analyse and record data/test results. Some lab environment work will include maintaining a clean workspace by following all lab regulations for health and safety.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Collect data through scientific experiments (using EEG, galvanic skin response, questionnaires, etc.)
- Recruit study participants (internally or externally depending on the study).
- Assist in designing, developing, and modifying research experiments.
- Prepare samples (dispense fragrance oils into finished products, following the corresponding protocols).
- Assist in data interpretation and analyses.
- Write protocols and reports.
- Perform additional functions related to research activities.
- Undertake general administrative tasks.
Skills and Attributes Required
Qualification
A relevant qualification in Neuroscience or related discipline. Previous experience in University projects/Internships/Trainings is a definite advantage.
Skills and Knowledge
- The ideal candidate for this position will have experience/knowledge in one or more of the following experimental techniques: EEG, galvanic skin response, eye tracking, and facial expression analysis.
- Highly analytical ability.
- Proven problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of data privacy standards.
- Solid written and spoken communication.
- Computer literate and skilled in using Office 365 with excellent ability using spreadsheets.
- Great planning and organising skills.
