As a Senior Data Scientist specializing in Drug Discovery, you will leverage your expertise in data analytics, machine learning, and statistical modeling to represent CI&T as a value added partner in technology to support the drug discovery process. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including account managers, strategists, developers, architects and others to understand and communicate the opportunities within the drug discovery process for clients and other internal teams at CI&T to have a meaningful and valuable impact with clients, prospects, and partners. Responsibilities: Prospect Relations: Be a first point of contact to open the conversation with prospective clients about how CI&T can help them, showing understanding of the drug discovery space and its challenges and opportunities. Model Deployment: Help identify the best potential models to tackle the presented challenge and deploy them in an enterprise environment, coordinating the work of different groups to ingest the necessary data for successful analysis of results. Data Analysis: Analyze large-scale biological datasets, including genomics, proteomics, and cheminformatics, to identify potential drug targets and biomarkers and how they affect the research being conducted. Collaboration: Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to design experiments and interpret results in the context of drug discovery. Visualization: Create clear and compelling visualizations of data analysis results to communicate findings to stakeholders and guide decision-making. Research: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science and drug discovery, applying novel methodologies to enhance our research capabilities. Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data scientists and interns, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment. Requirements: Education: MS or Ph.D. in Data Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field, with a strong emphasis on drug discovery methodologies. Experience: Solid experience in data science, specifically within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, focusing on omniomics (proteomics, genomics, etc), biometric systems, or drug discovery. Business Acumen: Understanding of the competitive and regulatory landscape surrounding drug discovery, and current best practices and leaders in the space. Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java, and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, matplotlib) and artificial intelligence models such as AlphaFold, ESMFold, RosettaFold and others. Machine Learning: Strong knowledge of machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, and data mining techniques, with a proven track record of applying these skills in drug discovery. Biological Knowledge: Solid understanding of molecular biology, pharmacology, and the drug development process. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights to non-technical audiences. Language: Professional English skills are required.
