This is a player/coach position, where you will be expected to be hands-on as needed—whether it's helping interview candidates to build our team or stepping in to assist project teams in delivering results.
Your role will also involve partial billability to clients during strategic engagements, as well as participating in innovation initiatives such as MAS Accelerators.Your responsibilities will include shaping our technology strategy, managing a diverse team of skilled engineers, and collaborating with Delivery Teams to execute projects that meet and exceed client expectations.
You will ensure that we attract and retain top talent in Java and AWS development, requiring a blend of deep technical expertise and robust people management skills, critical to the success of our engineering strategy.You will be at the forefront of our technological advancements, and collaborating with other technical leaders will be essential to driving our initiatives forward.
A holistic view of the technology ecosystem, with a focus on Java and AWS as key pillars of our offerings, will be paramount.Technical Leadership & Expertise:Define and drive the Java and AWS strategy within the overall technology framework to ensure alignment with company goals.Act as the strategic technical authority for Java and AWS in both internal and external contexts, enabling and accelerating growth for both MAS Global and our clients.Support the Pre-Sales process by providing solutions for RFPs, estimates, and establishing credibility in front of clients.Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in Java and AWS to keep our projects cutting-edge.Maintain a thorough understanding of our technology stack, offering technical guidance to the team and ensuring adherence to best coding practices and development standards.Troubleshoot complex technical issues and recommend necessary changes or solutions.Advise Sales and Delivery Teams on optimal team composition for engagements and address any performance-related issues.Talent & Team Management:Serve as the Java and AWS Lead, focusing on organizational capability development, team growth, engagement, and people management.Collaborate closely with the recruitment team to establish frameworks for candidate assessment, develop scorecards, and provide guidance for interviews specific to Java and AWS roles.Create and maintain a pool of qualified interviewers to ensure a thorough and effective hiring process.Lead, mentor, and inspire a talented team of engineers and architects, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.Ensure technical excellence within our teams through a high-quality assessment process aligned with client needs.Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and oversee performance evaluations.Collaborate with the Talent team on engagement and retention strategies.Lead training and certification programs, including upskilling initiatives, leveraging our MAS Academy program.You Have:Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering).Proven experience in leading a technology department and successfully collaborating with delivery and other internal teams.Excellent team management and leadership skills, with a track record of inspiring and developing technical talent.
Experience managing and growing teams of 20+ is preferred.Strong technical expertise in Java, AWS services, and cloud architecture.Familiarity with methodologies/frameworks such as Agile, Waterfall, and PMP.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams and key client stakeholders.Ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences clearly and effectively.A strategic mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.Advanced English proficiency (C Level).Our ValuesAt MAS, we believe in the power of "MORE."
