The IT Infrastructure Manager is responsible for the efficient and secure operation of the organization's technology infrastructure. This role oversees the management, maintenance, and improvement of critical IT systems, including firewalls, routers, switches, servers, and core network services such as DHCP and DNS. The IT Infrastructure Manager ensures optimal performance, availability, and security of all IT infrastructure components. Additionally, they lead a team of IT professionals, ensuring 24x7 availability, rapid response to incidents, and ongoing optimization of systems. The role also requires in-depth knowledge of Linux systems, with a preference for Ubuntu distributions. Responsibilities: 1. Infrastructure Management: Oversee and manage the organization's IT infrastructure, including firewalls, routers, switches, servers, and storage systems. Configure, manage, and troubleshoot network devices including VLANs, routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), NAT, and VPN. Ensure secure and efficient firewall configurations and manage access control. Oversee core services such as DHCP, DNS, and load balancing. 2. Network Management: Maintain network stability, ensuring optimal performance of routing, switching, and wireless networks. Implement, monitor, and improve network performance, resolving bottlenecks, and ensuring reliability. Perform capacity planning and network optimization to ensure scalability and future growth. 3. Server and Storage Management: Ensure that all physical and virtual servers (including Windows and Linux environments) are running efficiently. Oversee backups, disaster recovery, and failover procedures. Manage storage solutions and ensure data integrity and availability. Maintain and troubleshoot Linux servers, particularly Ubuntu, including package management, system updates, and kernel optimizations. 4. Security: Implement and manage security protocols and practices to protect the organization's IT infrastructure. Manage firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPN access. Regularly assess security risks and enforce security policies to ensure compliance with industry standards. 5. Team Leadership and 24x7 Availability: Lead and manage a team of IT professionals, including network engineers, system administrators, and support staff. Ensure 24x7 availability of IT systems, implementing a robust on-call rotation and escalation procedure. Manage incident response, ensuring timely resolution of critical infrastructure issues. Foster a team culture focused on proactive monitoring, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement. 6. Project Management: Plan and execute IT infrastructure projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and deployments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of IT infrastructure with business needs. Manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively for infrastructure projects. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management or a similar role. Strong experience with firewalls, routers, switches, and server management. In-depth knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), NAT, VLANs, and network security. Experience with Linux systems, preferably Ubuntu distribution. Proven experience in managing a 24x7 IT support environment. Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
