POSITION SUMMARY Reporting directly to the IT Systems and Security Supervisor, the IT Desktop Support Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance our organization's IT infrastructure.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS Education, Credentials, Licenses:
University degree in Engineering Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or a combination of education, experience, and certifications. Kind & Length of Experience: Fluency in Spanish is essential; Portuguese is preferredEnglish is required.Min 2 years experience in an IT related field Multi-Regional experience, providing support for users and systems in multiple countries and languages is a preferred.Must reside in ParaguayKnowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, Meraki, Cisco, M365, Entra ID, Azure, and Email Security are highly desirable.Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate are a plus.Require approx. 25% travel to other Cremer locations in LATAM. PERFORMANCE MEASURES AND STANDARDS Respond promptly to IT requests from employees in the LATAM region. Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, resolve technical problems, and escalate complex cases as needed to CNA IT and/or partner/vendor.Maintain and monitor network infrastructure, servers, and systems. Ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability.Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights. Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes.Install, configure, and update software applications across the organization.Implement security measures, perform regular system audits, and ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.Maintain accurate documentation of IT processes, procedures, and system configurations.Coordinate with external vendors for hardware and software procurement, maintenance, and support as needed.Work closely with Cremer North America (CNA) along with cross-functional teams to address IT-related challenges and improve overall efficiency.Provide helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions.Coordinate with local IT teams in Latin America and North America to ensure consistent service delivery, providing regional support and expertise.Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of servers, virtualization environment, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, security updates, support internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segmentsPerform server/cloud administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, research event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring.Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.Maintain accurate records of configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.Perform and manage regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.Conduct regular security audits and assessments, enforce security polices, and ensure compliance.Implement and support network security policies, application security, access control and corporate data safeguards to defend against unauthorized access, modifications, and destruction.Configuring and supporting security tools such as firewalls, Meraki networking, anti-virus/EDR software, Mimecast, VMWare, Umbrella, MFA and patch management systemsPartner with IT staff, managers, and executives about the best practices and providing technical advice and training.Additional duties as assigned.
