WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER Succeed the Shared Conservation Agenda´s ambitious results in three prioritized iconic landscapes: Amazon, Orinoquia and Magdalena, through lasting systemic changes that allow people and nature to thrive. Close alignment with the Colombia's Conservation Programs, the Science, Policy, and Communications teams, and guarantees the connection between local, LAR and Global organizational outcomes will be required.
 
WE'RE LOOKING FOR YOU The Integrated Water Resource & Basin Management (IWRBM/GIRH) Leader works in close collaboration with other conservation leaders and their teams designing and implementing projects, programs, and initiatives, taking into consideration the priorities of the Colombian Program and special focus on collaboration among teams. In coordination with the Conservation Director and support from areas such as Policy, Development and Science, positions TNC as the main conservation partner in the areas of implementation of Integrated Water Resource and Basin Management in Colombia. Works closely with the Conservation Director to define conservation priorities and long-term conservation outcomes aligned to Colombia's strategic framework decided by Colombia's Executive Team. Builds strategic scientific and technical capacities and develops relationships with key public and private entities to identify and solve technical problems and widely communicate solutions and best practices. Serves as the principle contact to government agencies, other conservation organizations, foundations, and the academic community related to Integrated Water Resource and Basin Management. The IWRBM/GIRH Leader develops innovative scientific methods, analyses, tools and methodological frameworks to solve the problems and needs for promoting the implementation of an integrated water resource and basin management at different scales, projects and initiatives, promotes the commitment of local communities in supporting local conservation efforts, and supports the negotiation of complex and innovative solutions with the government agencies, private companies or associations, to conserve and protect nature and natural capital. The IWRBM/GIRH Leader build synergies and supports other Conservation Programs, including IWRBM/GIRH knowledge and practices in different projects and fostering to their team to work jointly in other Conservation Programs. Works closely to Science and Policy teams and Conservation Director to plan, execute and monitor the projects related to Integrated Water Resource and Basin Management including technical, administrative, and financial issues, as well as the permanent monitoring of conservation outcomes and impacts through the 2030 goal´s HUB. Provides scientific leadership and support for TNC's conservation planning work and establishes overall conservation priorities at national or iconic landscape levels.
RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE Strategical and technical leadership
• Leads Integrated Water Resource and Basin Management Program and its projects.
• Support the Conservation Director on the annual planning of Integrated Water Resource and Basin Management Conservation Program priorities and Project Management decisions.
• Work in close collaboration with other leaders, plans the resources (staff time, logistic) allocated to Integrated Water Resource and Basin Management projects, activities, and tasks. If needed, due to disagreement or prioritization review Cons. Director should be involved.
• Focal point to public and private institutions on WRBC topics with support and guideline from Policy Team.
• Focal point to TNC Global Strategies related to Integrated Water Resource and Basin Management, LAR Freshwater and Water Fund´s strategies.
• Provide technical advice on the main topics/issues of the WRBC group to the Conservation Director, General Director and other BUs. It includes developing key technical products, donor reports and support the fundraising strategy.
• Builds cooperation, alignment and provides technical support to other conservation areas/leaders and coordinate how his/her team. Provides support to other teams in NASCA/LAR /Global 
• In Coordination with his /her team members maintain the TNC's 2030 goal´s HUB up to date.
Financial Sustainability
• Support the LAR Development & Public Funding teams, and the Financial Sustainability coordination in the preparation of new proposals to ensure the financial sustainability of the WRBC Conservation Program
• With the support of the Project Analyst and the team monitors costs and administering budgets of the WRBC projects/initiatives.
• Establish coordination and monitoring mechanisms with the Financial Sustainability Coordinator for the proper development and execution of their projects.
• Develop in coordination with the Financial Sustainability Coordinator innovative designs for included conservation finance tools in his/her program.
Management
• Suggest to the Conservation Director the management, result, and impact indicators for measuring compliance with their activities on the Conservation Program under his/her responsibility.
• Identify public and private local and regional actors, calls, and participate in meetings that allow the identification of issues of common interest and the generation of alliances for the fulfillment of the objectives of the Conservation Program.
• Build synergies and strategic relationships with local and regional stakeholders and decision makers linked to IWRBM in the geographic areas where the Conservation Program projects are implemented in support of the NASCA management team.
• Oversee and control the execution and develop of the work needed to implement in IWRBM projects and programs, activities, and tasks according with deadlines, budget and agreements done.
• Give strategic guidance and coordinates work to staff working under their conservation area, either under their supervision or not.
• May work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficult and hazardous terrain and under physically demanding circumstances. 
• Frequently makes independent decision based on analysis, experience, and context.
Marketing and Communications
• Support the development of educational, promotional and brand positioning materials, related to the objectives of their Conservation Program and projects, achievements, and relevant topics. 
• Lead in coordination with the Communication area the awareness campaigns, information tools in NASCA and the contents on the TNC Webpage of Colombia
Performance Partnership
• Supervise multi-disciplinary technical and administrative staff.
• Communicates with other conservation program leaders and build alliances and joint efforts with them. 
• Establish clear directions and set stretch objectives within his direct reports.
• Is an inspirational leader that guides people with example following TNC's values and competencies.
• Recruit and hire staff following TNC procedures. 
• Coach, mentor, and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and supporting career development planning and opportunities.
• Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among the team allowing for disagreement over ideas, conflict and expeditious conflict resolution, and the appreciation of diversity as well as cohesiveness, support, and working effectively together.
• Maintain transparent communication. Appropriately communicate organization information through department meetings, one-on-one meetings, and appropriate email, IM (Instant Messaging), and regular interpersonal communication.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• BA/BS degree and 7 years' experience in Integrated Water Resources & Basin Management topics or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience managing complex or multiple projects, including managing finances and coordinating the work of other professionals and partners.
• Experience in partnership development with non-profit partners, community groups and/or government agencies.
• Experience negotiating.
• Communicating clearly via written, spoken, and graphical means in English and other relevant languages.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Multi-lingual and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.
• 7-10 years' experience in conservation practice or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Fundraising experience, including identifying donor prospects and donor cultivation
• Ability to develop practical applications of scientific concepts and technical innovations for conservation purposes
• Politically savvy.
