JOB DESCRIPTION Typical Deliverables and Activities HMI Develop sketches based on P&ID Build/modify graphics Build/modify static and dynamic shapes/objects Build/modify HMI screen management application Build and use of HMI templates Reference related HMI specifications, configuration guidelines, etc. Reference control narrative, cause and effects or other design document to supplement HMI graphic' controls, etc. Reference logic documentation/applications as required to determine proper data point links. Installation/configuring of the HMI application software Support system interfacing/communication setup/troubleshooting Support testing on development system Progress reporting PLC Identify I/O types (AI, AO, D, DO) and systems (PLC/SCADA/etc) from PID's Develop point database to support point configuration. (PLC hard I/O and soft points, SCADA serial points) Develop and/or modify point and logic configuration from typical design documents (P&ID, PFD's, Control Narratives, Cause and Effects, Logic Diagrams, Instrument index, etc.) Development/redline control narrative or design documents based on as-built point/configuration logic. Build and use of point and/or logic templates. Configuring History, Configuring Groups and Trends per project requirements Reference related PLC/SCADA specifications, configuration guidelines, etc. Develop written test procedures for points/logic. Installation/Configuration of the PLC/SCADA application software. Support system interfacing/communication setup/troubleshooting Support testing on development system Progress reporting Responsibilities Participate in Automation Engineering projects for the design and implementation of automation systems for oil & gas and process industry projects. Engage in all phases of automation projects, front-end engineering through detailed design, procurement, configuration, implementation, startup, and commissioning in areas such as PLC Configuration, SCADA, HMI, SIS/FGS PLC programming and interfacing, architecture and networking, and specification development. Attend and support site surveys, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT's), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT's) and commissioning activities for delivered systems. Review, comment, and provide input on the project schedule and project cost estimate. Support procurement with vendors lists development, requisition development, technical bid tabulations and clarifications, purchase recommendations, monitor progress and maintain communications with vendors as required. Qualifications Must have between 10 and 15 years' Automation experience. Experience with an operating company, systems vendor, or engineering services provider for the onshore or offshore oil & gas and/or energy industry is preferred. At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) hardware, network architecture, integration, configuration and programming, industrial protocols, HMI Graphics and databases, and SCADA System configuration and installations. Experience with PLC platforms (Allen Bradley PLC, Siemens or Triconex, etc.) Demonstrated proficient knowledge of the principles of relational databases, application interfaces, and Human Machine Interface design and implementation. Strong background and direct experience with multiple systems platforms, operating systems and the interactions between systems, system hardware and architecture. Proficient knowledge of P&IDs and instrumentation/control equipment. Knowledge of MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Access, MS Teams, etc.). Strong written and spoken communication skills (in English and Spanish); must have a proficiency in English, and be able to communicate effectively with coworkers, clients, and vendors in person and remotely.
