Job Description The role of an Install Technician I plays a pivotal role in the successful installation and implementation of security systems, ensuring that our clients' needs are met with the highest level of quality and professionalism. Key Responsibilities: Installation of Security Systems: Install, configure, and maintain a wide range of security systems, including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and other security technologies. Cabling and Wiring: Proficiently run and terminate low-voltage cabling, ensuring that all installations adhere to industry standards and best practices. System Integration: Integrate and troubleshoot various security system components to ensure they function as a cohesive unit, offering clients a comprehensive security solution. Equipment Setup: Configure and program security equipment, such as cameras, access control panels, and alarms, according to project specifications and customer requirements. Quality Assurance: Perform system tests and inspections to ensure the installed systems operate efficiently and meet quality standards. Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all installation activities, including wiring diagrams, configuration settings, and project documentation. Customer Support: Provide training and technical support to clients on system operation and functionality, addressing any concerns and ensuring customer satisfaction. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards during installation projects to ensure a safe working environment. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues with security systems, ensuring minimal disruption to clients' operations. Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to coordinate and execute installation projects within specified timelines and budgets. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in electronics or related field is preferred. 2+ years of proven experience in the installation and maintenance of security systems, including access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection. Product-specific certifications preferred; industry-specific certifications desired; must have or be able to obtain applicable state and/or local required industry licenses as required by state law. Must have valid driver's license with a clean driving record. The colleague must frequently lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 100 pounds. Basic construction with some level of electrical or a low voltage background. Experience in 1 or more of the following industries: electronic/electrical, fire alarm & life safety, data-cable installation and/or building automation. Excellent communication and customer service skills; problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Requirements Active Driver's License.
