As the Green Team Lead, you will take ownership of promoting environmentally conscious practices and waste management throughout the SoulPlay experience. This involves coordinating waste reduction initiatives, overseeing recycling efforts, and fostering a culture of sustainability among festival attendees. You will have the opportunity to lead and manage the volunteers in this department. Responsibilities Pre-Festival Waste Management Strategy: Collaborate with production to develop a waste management plan. This includes placement and labeling of bins, and how the waste will be disposed of. Vendor Collaboration: Coordinate with food vendors & catering to encourage eco-friendly practices and create a plan for separating and disposing of waste. Green Team Orientation: Schedule training sessions with the green team to go over flow and volunteer positions. During Festival Green Team Oversight: Lead and manage the Green Team volunteers during the event, providing guidance, support, and ensuring effective communication. Waste Sorting and Collection: Oversee the sorting and collection of waste, guiding volunteers to ensure proper disposal of recyclables, compostables, and general waste. Monitoring and Reporting: Regularly monitor waste collection points, assess the effectiveness of waste management initiatives, and provide reports to event organizers for future improvement. Problem-Solving: Address any challenges related to waste management promptly, employing creative solutions to enhance the Green Team's impact. Post-Event Evaluation: Conduct a post-event evaluation of waste management efforts, gathering feedback from volunteers and attendees to identify areas for improvement in future festivals. Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.
