PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
You will be a detail-oriented, proactive professional with experience coordinating with external payroll service providers across various regions.
As we transition to an internal insourcing model under a shared service structure, you will play a key role in streamlining processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate with external payroll service providers to ensure seamless global payroll processing for 1100 employees.
Oversee the internal payroll function within Workday (data entry, basic configurations for our USA payroll.
Run the Union payroll for USA.
Ensure accuracy and timeliness in processing payroll across multiple countries.
Manage and maintain payroll records including taxes, deductions, and benefits.
Supervise compliance with global payroll policies and procedures.
Provide comprehensive support to employees on payroll and benefits-related inquiries.
Collaborate closely with human resources and accounting teams to ensure data integrity and consistency across systems.
Perform periodic payroll reconciliations and audits to guarantee accuracy and compliance.
Input all necessary data into the payroll processing system according to the monthly calendar.
Implement improvements in payroll processes to enhance efficiency and reduce errors.
Support all HR processes that have payroll implications, from hiring to employee exits.
Facilitate communication and coordination between different regions and cultures regarding payroll matters.
Manage service level agreements (SLAs) and track initiatives to enhance them with external vendors.
Monitor outsourcing services costs and negotiate new deals or requests as necessary.
DESIRED BACKGROUND
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, human resources, or related field.
Proven experience for 3 to 5 years as a Payroll Specialist or similar role handling global payroll operations.
In-depth knowledge of international payroll processes, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
Experience working with diverse payroll systems and external vendors.
Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across different teams and cultures.
Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Ability to create process documentation and mapping.
Proficiency in Workday as an HCM system (is a plus).
