Position Summary: Work as a liaison between vendors and the organization; provide specialized consultative service and implement, drive, and maintain vendor programs, marketing, and training. Review and negotiate terms of vendor contracts and communicate with vendors regarding day-to-day matters. Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors and monitor vendor performance. Research invoice and contractual issues and resolve discrepancies. Position may or may not be on sales commission plans. What you bring to the role: Manage a large team which typically consists of both experienced professionals and supervisors/managers. Focus on policy and strategy implementation of operational plans. Influence others outside of own job area regarding policies, processes, and procedures. Receive assignments in the form of objectives and determine how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. Provide input in defining operation plans and strategies. Provide input into strategic decisions that impact the functional area. Manage subordinate professional staff and may manage lower-level associates through Supervisor/Manager. Work toward objectives established by upper levels of management. Recommend and implement departmental specific procedures. Assist executives in defining operational plans and strategies. Use interpersonal skills to influence customers, suppliers, and other comparable level managers. Minimum Qualifications: A four-year college degree (or additional relevant experience in a related field). Minimum of 8 years functional experience including a minimum of 5 years position-specific experience. Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience, preferably managing through subordinate managers.
