Job Overview: Your Place on the Team Be part of our client's team as a Full Stack Engineer (Rails), responsible for designing and optimizing key features within a high-performing Ruby on Rails application. You'll work alongside a passionate team, using modern tech to develop, maintain, and troubleshoot systems that drive employee ownership forward. Employment type: Indefinite Term Contract Shift: Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm CST Work setup: Remote Responsibilities: Your Daily Impact Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance features for the core Ruby on Rails application. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement new features. Optimize application performance, database queries, and overall system architecture. Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, adhering to best practices and industry standards. Identify and troubleshoot software defects, performance bottlenecks, and system failures. Stay current with the latest trends and advancements in Ruby on Rails and web development. Qualifications Needed: What Sets You Apart Minimum of four years of experience building software in a team environment or equivalent expertise; applicants who can demonstrate strong teamwork in software development are encouraged to apply. At least two years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails or equivalent. Skilled in writing code that is accessible, scalable, maintainable, and high-performing. Experience with background job processing environments, such as Sidekiq or other ActiveJob processors. Proficient in writing complex queries for relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL. Comfortable working autonomously in a remote environment, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and public communication. Ability to work within US time zones for team collaboration, regardless of physical location. Must be based in South or Central America; applications from the US or Europe are currently not being accepted. Preferred Skills: Familiarity with Zapier or Make.
