This is aContract / Consultant position. Generally, working hours will be9 : 00am-6 : 00pm Eastern Time, Monday through Friday, although hoursworked may be greater based upon operational requirements.
The jobrequires excellent oral and written command of the Englishlanguage. Resumes must be submitted in English. This is a keyleadership position that will enable the successful candidate tojoin a rapidly growing company,
report directly to and work closelywith the Financial Controller and CFO, and play a critical seniorrole in the Finance department.
Requirements - Lead and manageaccounting department staff and related functions, includingaccounting for loans, fixed assets, for NPL and REO assets, fees,prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, and other accounts (FAS 91accounting).
- Oversee WBL's ledger and financial accounts, costcontrols, and other financial reporting and auditing functions. -In collaboration with the Financial Controller and CFO, establishfinancial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring andreporting standards on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
- Assess and evaluate the financial performance of the organizationwith regard to goals, budgets and forecasts. - Oversee thetimeliness and accuracy of financial and management reporting data.
- Determine accounting and tax implications for all materialbusiness decisions. - Ensure compliance with all applicableaccounting policies, procedures, processes and internal controls;
develop and implement additional policies, procedures,
processesand internal controls as needed / recommended. - Ensure conformitywith professional accounting standards and best practices inaccordance with GAAP.
Manage cash flow planning, ensure fundsavailability and oversee cash management processes. - Manage thescheduling of wires, ACH and book transfers;
review and approvelarge payables, wires and ACHs. - Maintain corporate bankingrelationships and serve as key point of contact for externalauditors / tax accounting firms.
- Manage the reconciliation ofselect GL accounts, including cash and accrual accounts. - Overseemonthly close and annual required reporting / filing, including 1099sand K-1s.
- Lead special accounting projects, including automationof processes through in-house initiatives / 3rd party vendors. -Ensure timely vendor payment,
review and monitor accounts payableaging analysis.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.Requirements : - CPA in active status required. - Bachelors orMasters degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent workexperience required;
Masters degree preferred. - 10-15 yearsgeneral accounting experience and demonstrated technical accountingknowledge, ideally in a mortgage or small business lending setting.
- Experience with Sage GL and AP is preferred, but not required. -Proficiency in MS Office. - Ability to navigate through automationprojects preferred.
- Ability to handle confidential information ina discreet, professional manner. - Ability to prioritize and tomultitask in a fast-paced environment.
