Be the primary factory responsible for strategic sourcing activities by ensuring material availability, delivery performance and cost competitiveness. Review regularly the demand and supply balance to anticipate changes. Manage assigned spend with a short term and medium-term sourcing strategy to meet targets on total cost of ownership, quality, and reliability of supplies. Focus on materials assigned data management control end to end from the sales bidding process to invoice payments. Collaborate with factory and HUB stakeholders to support the undertakings, project implementation. Take the ultimate accountability and approval authority, and review and assure the quality of the team's operation in accordance with PG, BU, and HUB regulations and procedures.
Main Activities: Manage local or HUB allocated other direct spend (none categorized spend) in accordance to PG/BU instructions and guidelines.Support and Implement the HUB sourcing strategy in the factory by providing input (complementing P&F) to factory requirements to the RFx and margin improvement processes. Participate by delegation in supplier negotiation if required.Lead on fast track RFQ in line with factory requirements and category management input.Translate local material planning and logistics requirements (MOQ, packaging, communication processes) into Service Level Agreement (SLA) with suppliers. Engage actively in spend management for Indirect spend & services and transportation.Accountable for material price and Terms & Conditions control throughout the value chain (from tender, ERP master data and oversees invoices control rules (tolerances, etc.)Measure gaps tender/actuals jointly with Controlling, further investigate on root causes and take adequate corrective/preventive measures.Improve on tender material costing and run tender specific negotiations where applicable.Lead SCM activities related to order (sales order) execution by planning, assigning and executing tasks to secure availability and optimum costs.For the SEOP cycle actively engage in providing input on critical material definition phase and material supply capabilities.Lead/support the commodity hedging process in line with factory Controller. Act promptly on issues escalated according to escalation matrix.Own factory cost savings, cost avoidance, claim recovery reporting and SCM performance tracking according to PG/BU requirements.Qualify all local assigned contractor's qualification (CCQP) according to procedures and regulation.Lead company qualification for none categorized or assigned or assigned spend.Conduct Supplier Performance Evaluations (SPE) for the HUB identified suppliers and for none categorized spend selected suppliers.In agreement with the factory quality function and HUB Category Manager / SQE act as 2nd level supplier performance improvement owner. Recommend improvement measures to HUB and improve on non-category managed suppliers. Lead and escalate to BU/HUB SQE when issues are from CCRP, repeat or critical to operations.Identify and address performance hot spots and escalate adequately with corrective and preventive measures.Lead on assigned and all local managed suppliers for claim management to maximize compensation to Hitachi Energy and escalate as necessary.Act as second level escalation resolution owner on PO Management and Delivery to Pay processes.Initiate, promote and support implementation of material cost cutting and risk mitigation projects, preferably using Dynamic Evolution methodology.Execute on SCM related local activities for R&D, DTV, New Product Introduction, product cost improvement project.Support technology transfer projects and other agreed improvement measures.
