Work Schedule: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday, 9AM - 5PM San Bernardino, CA Includes 1 hour unpaid break Responsibilities : Read and interpret electrical drawings and blueprints to understand the project scope, including wiring layouts, power requirements, lighting systems, and equipment placement.
Quantity Takeoff: Calculate exact quantities of materials, such as cables, conduits, switches, outlets, panels, and lighting fixtures, required for the project.
Cost Estimation and Analysis: Research material costs, labor rates, and other project-specific expenses to develop a comprehensive cost breakdown.
Perform labor estimating by assessing the time and resources needed for installation based on project complexity.
Proposal Preparation: Compile detailed cost estimates into professional bid documents, including materials, labor, contingencies, and timelines.
Ensure the bid proposals meet client requirements and are submitted within deadlines.
Vendor Management: Identify and communicate with suppliers to gather pricing and availability information for materials and equipment.
Compliance Checks: Verify that project plans and estimates adhere to local building codes, safety regulations, and client specifications.
Client Communication: Collaborate with clients to answer questions, address concerns, and negotiate contract terms related to estimates and project execution.
Project Management: Utilize electrical estimating software such as PlanSwift, Electrical Bid Manager (EBM), or equivalent tools to generate accurate calculations, reports, and presentations.
Feasibility Analysis: Assess project viability by considering potential challenges, cost constraints, and project timelines, providing recommendations as needed.
Qualifications: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in electrical and low voltage estimating preferably within the U.S. market.
Proficiency in estimating software tools, including PlanSwift and Electrical Bid Manager (EBM).
Strong understanding of electrical systems, low voltage installations, and relevant codes and regulations.
Experience in project management and administrative tasks related to electrical construction projects.
Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
