Dispatcher Jr Position Overview: As a Junior Dispatcher, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth operations by coordinating deliveries and resolving any issues that arise during the shipping process. You will be responsible for communicating with terminals, shipping lines, drivers, and customers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and proficiency in Microsoft Office for tracking and reporting. Location: Remote - Colombia Shifts available: 5:00 am to 2:00 pm or 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm Qualifications Experience: 6+ months as a Dispatcher, Logistics Coordinator or related roles. Experience working in a US Company in the freight and logistics industry. Skills: Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail, with proficiency in data analysis tools and familiarity with freight management systems and Excel. Language: Proficiency in English (B2+ level). Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Slack, Dialpad or VoIP phone systems. Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field preferred. Key Responsibilities: Dispatch Local Port Drivers: Coordinate and assign local port drivers to scheduled tasks efficiently. Customer Updates: Provide daily updates to customers regarding appointment status, including sending screenshots of empty returns with missing appointments. Ensure timely communication of port updates to customers. Monitor Long Haul Exports: Oversee long haul exports and ensure shipments meet same-day cutoffs. In the event of a missed cutoff, work with the team to arrange for late gate processing or next-day solutions. Track long haul exports in an Excel file, ensuring accuracy and completion of all necessary details. Driver Monitoring and Communication: Monitor long haul drivers, ensuring proper port credentials are used and making them aware of box return locations. Upload all related documentation (DFS) in a timely manner. Termpoint Appointments: Ensure that all necessary appointments are scheduled for the following day's moves. Notify APM promptly if any LFDs are missing appointments, allowing for extensions as needed. Communicate with road dispatch if any moves lack appointments in Termpoint, facilitating necessary adjustments. Global Appointments: Manage and coordinate appointments for global shipments. Yard Checks: Conduct bi-weekly yard checks to compare DFS vs. 635 data, ensuring alignment and resolving discrepancies. Attendance Tracking: Maintain and update local driver attendance records in the company spreadsheet and DFS system. Chassis Tracking for Long Haul: Verify that all long haul moves have corresponding chassis numbers. Check the afternoon report to ensure all details are accurate. Trac Report & Metro Movement: Prepare and distribute the Trac Report for metro movement twice a month, ensuring accurate and timely submissions. Flexi Van Disputes: Address and resolve any issues or disputes related to One Line Flexi vans.
