TelevisaUnivision is actively seeking a Director, Data Products – Data Instrumentation to join our dynamic team! The Director, Data Products – Data Instrumentation will lead the strategic utilization of technology to drive insights into user behaviors on our video streaming platform. This role is responsible for managing our data instrumentation stack, ensuring robust data analytics capabilities, and interfacing with product and engineering teams to support business objectives. YOUR DAY-DAY: (aka Responsibilities) Strategic Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement: Oversee the Instrumentation team, aligning initiatives with business goals and maintaining continuity in projects started by predecessors. Lead critical projects such as the in-house Customer Data Platform (CDP) transition, Conviva analytics integration, and future in-house data solutions. Handle conversations with stakeholders and senior leadership to align data instrumentation strategies with business objectives. Provide regular updates on project progress, challenges, and outcomes to senior leadership. Technology and Data Management: Supervise technology implementations across various platforms including Segment, BigQuery, and other data management tools, ensuring integration with our product ecosystem. Handle data integrity and flow between systems, resolving data pipeline issues and overseeing the data model transitions needed for new technology integrations. Maintain a proactive approach to privacy and data compliance, navigating complexities related to VPPA, COPPA, and targeted advertising consents. Champion the redesign of events and optimize client-side data utilization to stay within budget. Operational Excellence: Develop and refine instrumentation specifications to ensure high-quality data collection from client applications. Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of data issues, coordinating with BI and QA teams to maintain data accuracy and functionality. Oversee project timelines and deliverables, ensuring projects are completed on time. Support the estimation of project scopes and resource requirements, ensuring accurate planning and allocation for successful project execution. Team Development and Collaboration: Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and support career development for team members. Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure alignment and efficiency in project executions. Facilitate knowledge transfer from outgoing leadership and maintain documentation on ongoing projects and operational strategies. Technical Strategy and Innovation: Define and maintain the technical roadmap for data instrumentation, aligning it with business goals. Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to enhance data instrumentation capabilities. Stay ahead of industry trends to implement innovative solutions that enhance our capabilities and competitive edge. YOU HAVE: (Qualifications, Required Skills & Experience) Bachelor's or master's degree in information technology, Business Administration, or a related field. Extensive experience in data instrumentation, digital analytics, and product management, preferably in a streaming or digital media environment. Proven track record of managing complex data-driven projects. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a team. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Fluency in Spanish and English. 7+ years of experience in a similar position preferred.
