The Director, Clinical Applications – Latin America, is a senior management professional that oversees the clinical Applications Manager(s) and Clinical Applications Specialist(s) in the delivery of Varian product education, training, and support to Varian customers in collaboration with business units in the company and external partners to enable the delivery of personalized clinical training and implementation of Varian solutions. Duties and Responsibilities Strategic Planning and Development Partnership in strategic planning and development, analyzing market trends, customer feedback, and technological advancements. Provide vision and direction to the clinical applications team for the delivery of Varian product training and educational support to Varian customers. Creation of new services, partnership in commercialization and marketing internally and externally. People Leader Leader of leaders, Clinical Operations Manager, and Clinical Applications Specialists across Americas in which applies local regulations (e.g., US, Mexico, Colombia, Panama, and Brazil). Development of a high-performing team focused on product expertise and customer satisfaction. Pre-Sales Engagement Participate proactively in pre-sale engagements in both direct and indirect countries to identify and partner in creating a solution that is in alignment with the customer goals, provides a successful implementation and continuing education to maintain and advance their product knowledge. Provide expert insights into different training program offerings and customization options. Financial Responsibilities Manage a profit and loss center and revenue targets to achieve financial objectives. Attendance of forecast calls to maintain visibility on resource needs and customer deliverables. Customer Relationship Management Provide strategic leadership and direction for the delivery of clinical applications training and support to customers to provide the highest level of service and customer satisfaction. Engage in the resolution of customer needs and concerns while defining and developing ongoing customer relationships. Operations Management Analyze operational processes, utilize digital platforms to proactively engage with our customers, escalation procedures and perform training needs assessments for identifying opportunities for educational delivery improvements and value add to the customer. Manage customer relations and partnership with Clinical Operations Manager(s) in scheduling all training matters (on site, classroom, remote and electronic training modalities) to ensure customers are well prepared to obtain training that will enable them to operate their Varian Medical Systems equipment according to a minimum of safe and effective use guidelines, set timelines and assist in managing the customer's clinical expectations. Monitor resource utilization of the applications specialist. Understand business needs and drivers, identify opportunities of enhanced utilization and proactively implement strategies and respond appropriately to ongoing changes in demand. Cross Functional Collaboration Collaborate with other departments primarily Project Management, Sales, Service, AOS, Global Education, Helpdesk, Product Management, Marketing, Government Relations, Legal and Compliance to provide the necessary support to enable the best services and optimize customer relations. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent. Master's degree preferred. 15 years of related experience 7 years management experience. Clinical oncology experience required. Proficient in Portuguese, Spanish and English. Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and Email. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships with professionals of all organizational levels. Exercise sound judgment and problem-solving skills. Take responsibility and work independently, as well as coordinate team efforts. Demonstrate patience, tact, and courtesy with a variety of customers and personalities. Ability, competence, and confidence to lead people. Certifications and Training: Obtains and completes LMS training plan specific to assigned responsibility. Experience with HCM (e.g., Workday) or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired. Travel 50-75%. Fighting cancer calls for big ideas. We envision a world without fear of cancer.
