Engineering at Emotive At Emotive, every engineer, regardless of their specialty, is expected to make significant contributions to expanding our platform to better serve our brands. To achieve this, engineers are expected to: Regularly deliver positive brand value through bug fixes, incremental improvements, and substantial feature builds. These contributions should have a direct, positive impact on the brand experience. Deliver software updates that are designed to scale with our needs, maintaining system stability and smooth functionality at all times. Consistently deliver high-quality code that is easy to maintain, efficient, and reliable. Proactively drive improvements in our engineering processes to increase development efficiency, code quality, and maintainability. Collaborate effectively with their team, stakeholders, and our customers. The Role The DevOps engineer role is expected to support the operations of our system. The daily work will move between managing the systems and services we use within AWS and working on our codebases with a focus on improving the efficiency of the code. Keep our systems running up-to-date versions and security patches. Manage our infrastructure using Terraform - Update Terraform code as needed to add new infrastructure, update configuration and versions of existing infrastructure, and eventually remove when no longer required. Monitor our infrastructure - Using DataDog currently, regularly look for changes in the behavior of our usage patterns to try and identify potential issues or places of concern that should be discussed with the larger engineering organization. Assist Engineers - When engineers have questions or need assistance setting up their infrastructure, provide guidance to them as well as review/improve their merge requests before being deployed. Qualifications The DevOps engineer should have some of these skills: Infrastructure as Code: We use Terraform currently, but any experience with any IAC tooling and a willingness to learn Terraform is acceptable. Python: Our application is written in Python and we expect this position to be able to make occasional updates to the application focused on improving the performance of the application or unblocking required infrastructure changes. Infrastructure Management: We use Datadog, but experience with any Infrastructure management tool will be considered. Containerization: We run our containers on Amazon's ECS platform. This role will update existing container definitions as well as create new ones as we move to newer operating systems and versions of the programming language. Cost Management: Understand cloud billing and where savings can be found within it. We run on AWS, but experience with billing on any cloud platform is sufficient. Build Pipelines: We currently leverage Gitlab's CI/CD solution to build our containers and deploy application and infrastructure changes. Tipo de puesto: Tiempo completo #J-18808-Ljbffr
