Job SummaryThe Criminal Defense Department is seeking a full-time Criminal Defense Paralegal/Case Manager to join our growing team.
This role is ideal for experienced legal professionals with strong paralegal and case management skills, a thorough understanding of criminal defense law, and a commitment to client service.
Candidates must hold a JD or equivalent law degree from their home country and have relevant legal experience.
This position is fully remote, with required working hours from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Eastern Time.
Responsibilities and DutiesPrepare and organize documents for client meetings, court filings, discovery, and legal proceedings.Manage and maintain client files and electronic records with accuracy and confidentiality.Conduct legal research and prepare case summaries, motions, and other court filings.Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and provide updates on case status.Draft correspondence to clients, courts, and opposing counsel.Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and preparing witness materials.Monitor case deadlines and maintain attorney calendars.Collaborate with attorneys and staff to ensure timely completion of tasks and projects.Perform other essential departmental functions as needed.Qualifications and SkillsJD/Law degree from your home country with relevant legal experience, or a minimum of 2 years as a Paralegal/Case Manager in a law firm (preferably in the U.S.).Extensive experience in Criminal Defense Law is strongly preferred.Proficiency in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills (C1-C2 level).Strong interpersonal and client-service skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, and case management software.Excellent analytical abilities, organizational, and time management skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining client confidentiality.Application ProcessInterested candidates are invited to submit their résumé and a cover letter detailing their relevant experience and interest in the position.
