A Day in the Life The Event and Convention Specialist at Medtronic is responsible for planning, implementing, evaluating, and supporting conventions and events. This is a hybrid position in Bogotá. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned: Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to define product marketing objectives and communicate marketing opportunities for conventions. Lead meetings with stakeholders to discuss event goals, strategies, and requirements, primarily supporting one business sector with small to medium-sized exhibits. Serve as a convention resource to help position Medtronic as a leading medical technology company, guiding business units on Medtronic branding standards and convention processes. Identify booth staffing requirements based on marketing objectives and audience profile, collaborating with sales and marketing management to select effective and appropriate staff. Oversee event setup and teardown, managing daily operations and ensuring all onsite tasks are executed with precision. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers, ensuring logistical requirements are met and convention materials are prepared and organized. Provide continuous communication with clients, addressing their needs before, during, and after the event. Monitor project costs and ensure budget compliance, working closely with stakeholders to maintain financial oversight. Maintain and manage inventory of supplies and materials, placing orders as necessary to support event operations. Required knowledge and Experience: Bachelor's degree Fluent in English Two years of experience in administrative support, customer-facing roles, convention planning, ideally within a corporate or healthcare setting Skilled in building strong relationships and communicating effectively Experience with project management tools (e.g., Workfront) is advantageous.
